The mission and scope of United Nations organizations illuminates the breadth and complexity of our age, when extensive coordination across political boundaries is essential to human progress. UN organizations deliver environmental protections, economic development, social welfare, policy debates and coordination, security initiatives, legal frameworks, human rights protection, transportation improvements, scientific advancements, peace initiatives and cultural enrichment. This talk focuses on the UN’s activities (beyond the General Assembly and Security Council) that help 7.6 million people enjoy healthier, safer, more equitable and productive lives.
