Six weeks of holiday charm to embrace the spirit of the season. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and in Manchester that means welcoming the winter holidays in festive style. Look for new additions to the list of Manchester Merriment events as the season approaches.


Community Tree Lighting Celebration
Nov. 30

Factory Point Town Green
Come one, come all to the Factory Point Town Green for a community celebration to kickoff the holiday season. Join in as we ‘flip the switch’ and light the trees on the green. Don’t miss caroling and a visit with Santa too!


Holiday Inn Tours
Dec. 7 & 14
12–4pm
Walk through history and learn more about some of Southern Vermont’s most famous inns during this magical time of year. Inns throughout Manchester, Dorset, Arlington, Sunderland, and Bennington will be open for visitors. Each location plays host in a unique way, making for a cozy and fun Saturday afternoon in the country. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit The Community Food Cupboard.
Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple.

Lighted Tractor Parade
Dec. 7
5:30pm
Parade will loop from Manchester Elementary Middle School along School Street, south on Bonnet Street, east on Main Street, and turn down Memorial Avenue to return to the start. Judges and viewing stand in front of Factory Point Place on Main Street.

DEPARTURES: 10:00, 11:30, 1:00, 2:30, *4:00
*4:00PM ride is for Saturday only

This whimsical holiday train departs from r.k. Miles Depot Station and takes its riders on a one-hour enchanting journey through the Green Mountains of Southern Vermont.

Adding to the memories of this holiday ride, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will make a surprise visit to provide every child with a special gift.
