Film Screening: The Thomashefskys

Join us on Wednesday, April 10th for the second Weston 101 live event of 2019; a screening of The Thomashefskys: Music and Memories of a Life in the Yiddish Theater. Composer Michael Tilson Thomas and four world-class opera singers guide the audience through the story of how Thomas’ grandparents, Boris and Bessie Tomashefsky, immigrated to the United States, rose to fame, and altered the landscape of the American theatre. This film will offer insight into Yiddish theatre and culture in advance of the fall production of Indecent. It will be followed by a discussion with Artistic Associate Rachel Liff.
